The Wandering Realm curates unique experiences for femme identifying folk who share a common passion for fantasy and community. With monthly events, The Wandering Realm provides opportunities for those who yearn for the chance to meet new people who have similar ideas, interests, and lifestyles. All events are exclusive and require thoughtful form responses to be invited, this helps ensure the safety and comfortability of all guests. The Wandering Realm is an organization that upholds feminist ideals, including standing in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and the Black Lives Matter movement. It is within the discretion of The Wandering Realm LLC, its affiliates, and representatives to refuse service or revoke membership to anyone deemed to be in violation of the community guidelines.

Gabby M.
Founder
Gabrielle McGarry is a Senior Creative at an advertising agency in Dallas, TX. When she’s not working on the latest video needs for her clients, she has her nose in her fantasy books. Her love of fantasy books inspired her to plan whimsical events for her friends which lead to a desire to plan similar events on a larger scale. When she’s not planning her next party, Gabby enjoys reading, playing Dead by Daylight, creating art, and spending time with her partner and two dogs.

Co-founder
Alexis Walston is a PhD candidate in Language, Writing, and Rhetoric at the University of Maryland. Her research circulates around women’s and feminist rhetorics, embodiment, and rhetorical theory—which come together in her dissertation: “The Rhetorical Power of Appearance: An Archival Study on Beauty Ideals.” When she’s not researching and writing, Lexi enjoys reading fantasy romance novels, baking finicky pastries, running, and practicing yoga.

Sydney Boston is a freelancer in the film & tv industry residing in Dallas, Texas. She loves all things creative that come in to play with making a good, meaningful story. When she’s not thinking about movies, Sydney loves playing video games, reading and spending time with her wonderful friends.

When not curled up on the couch with her dog reading a “why choose”, Eliza can be found reading tarot, enjoying a long walk or training to be a Valkyrie in her kickboxing/boxing classes. Eliza is dedicated to serving the Wandering Realm community and you can find her at most Wandering Realm events, so feel free to say hi!

Riley is a chemical engineer who abandoned her degree (much to her mother’s dismay) to work in veterinary health sales. She is a passionate advocate of escapism, finding solace and excitement within the realms of books, TV shows, and video games. When not embarking on adventures through imaginative worlds, she likes to be in nature with her spastic pup, Rain.

Event Coordinator
Ayla is the mother to a vivacious six-year-old girl and works for a local hospital where she manages surgical instrumentation. In her free time, she enjoys baking yummy treats for her friends and family, playing a cozy game on her Switch, or listening to a smutty audiobook. (One of her greatest skills is listening with a straight face.) Ayla loves advocating for mental health and is always down for a spontaneous adventure.

Devon is a graphic designer and lover of all things witchy and fantastical. Outside of work, Devon can be found on her yoga mat, binging her latest television obsession, or reading any book series with an angsty enemies to lovers plot.
The High Ladies…
are a group of women who formed organically in the early days of The Wandering Realm. You may have seen these wonderful women at our events and on our social handles, as they have been members since Forming the Fellowship (our first event in October of 2022). The High Ladies naturally became a support system for Gabby and were crucial in building and maintaining the integrity and vision of the community in its earliest days. Thank you, Ladies, for willingly giving your time, energy, resources, and expertise in helping TWR grow into the beautiful community it is!
Their roles are developing as it pertains to their interest and availability, but please feel free to reach out to them or approach them at events if you’re feeling shy or have any questions.
It is important to note that the High Ladies do not get priority access to tickets for formal or informal events.

High Lady
BethAnn is a Producer and Creative Project Manager who is passionate about helping others bring artistic projects to life, as well as exploring new ways to unlease her own creative energy. In her free time, she enjoys being active and out in nature: camping, hiking, swimming, and kayaking. Though equally loves staying in and getting cozy with a cup of tea and a fantasy book, watching horror movies, playing boardgames, or relaxing in a bubble bath. While she can be a little shy in larger groups, she loves meeting new people and making new friends and is eager to welcome more people into this fantastic community!

High Lady
Emily works as a Database Manager and Operations Applications Admin in the north Texas area. To balance out the analytical needs of her job, she loves to engage in creative or whimsical outings and is always happy to lend a helping hand or kind ear to anyone who would like one. Outside of work, she can be found enjoying enemies to lovers (slow burn, anyone?) or any plot focused on a fantastic female villain, spending time in the kitchen and garden, or mixing up a new drink to share with TWR.

Eva is in technical sales for small business software. Her off days are spent cuddling her two dogs, Darcy and Luna, while reading a new fantasy or smut book and watching Star Trek. She loves to create art through painting, knitting, crochet, printmaking, and more. Eva loves to engage with new members of the community so make sure to say hi when you spot her at events.

Jessica Boettner has a Bachelors in mathematics and computational physics and is a Software Engineer II. Outside (and sometimes during) work she will be obsessively ingesting any romance related media. Other big interests are raves/festivals, dancing, making TikTok’s, and hiking. If you ever want to be a rave baby and experience some techno beats in a crazy fun outfit, look no further! At events, she’ll always have a smile on her face, ready for a good laugh among new friends.

Kam is the VP of Sales Operations for a corporate gifting company here in north Texas. After work, you can typically find her binge watching shows or the latest Marvel movies with her son, Lucas, and their two cats. Her soul is happiest when she travels, but she also enjoys the outdoors, pilates, and reading fantasy smut at bars to make others uncomfortable. We promise she doesn’t bite, so don’t be shy - she lives for deep chats and would love to hear your story.

She is a graphic designer, photographer, life coach, and is on her way to becoming a therapist. With laughter and a wild sense of humor, Sammi aims to make a warm and welcoming environment for all. If you ever need a friend or someone to talk to at our events, she’s there.
Community Guidelines
The goals of this community are to bring fantastical escapism to everyday reality while cultivating deep and meaningful bonds in a space with like-minded individuals who align with feminist ideals, believe LGBTQ+ rights are human rights, and support the Black Lives Matter movement.
In order to meet the goals of this community, it is important for our members to know they are in a welcoming place that is populated by others with shared interests and values. As such, we request that you read and adhere to the guidelines that follow.
Guidelines:
Treat one another with mutual respect, which includes (but is not limited to) behaviors such as listening to others before responding and framing disagreement as an opportunity to develop and nuance our own views
Value the lived experiences of one another as significant and legitimate
Honor the privacy and personal information of other members
Affirm and act in accordance to the community’s values that center feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and Black Lives Matter
Refrain from hate speech and disparaging comments about one another
Please do not:
Directly or indirectly conflict with the growth of The Wandering Realm and its community members
Make personal attacks on other community members
Use defamatory remarks or make false statements against others
Bully or make inflammatory remarks to other community members
Speak unkindly of one another
